    This passionate musician has formed influences from Joe Henderson, Charlie Parker and,
    above all, John Coltrane into an unmistakable style of its own.

    On all his instruments he commands a rich, variegated and scintillating tone
    even during the most eruptive expression in the highest of notes. Coming from
    a background of rock, soul and funk bands, the Scottish multi-instrumentalist
    Colin Dunwoodie's music, played in collaboration with his various groups,
    encompasses a spectrum ranging from modern mainstream and free jazz,
    but at the same time maintaining a consistent focus on the new hardbob.
